起死回生的剧情介绍,美国加州某大学，佐伊·麦康奈尔（奥利维亚·王尔德 Olivia Wilde 饰）和恋人兼合作者弗兰克·沃顿（马克·杜普拉斯 Mark Duplass 饰）正在进行一项复生项目，在新人艾娃摄像机的记录下，他们以及团队成员克莱、尼克即将迎来项目的里程碑时刻。历经艰辛，他们的实验终于获得成功，一条早已死亡的狗成功复生。可就在此时，他们的研究内容被校方和资助公司获知，数年来辛勤的研究成果和数据全部被资助方收走。不甘心失败的佐伊和弗兰克等人趁着夜晚再度闯入实验室，谁知期间发生意外，佐伊不幸触电身亡。 <br /> 　　悲痛万分的弗兰克抢救无效，这是他突然冒出将尚未确定副作用的血清注入佐伊的身体中……

THE LAZARUS EFFECT follows a group of researchers led by Frank and his fiancé Zoe who've achieved the unimaginable - bringing the dead back to life. After a successful, yet unsanctioned, trial on a newly deceased animal, the team is ready to unveil their breakthrough to the world. When the dean of their university learns of their underground experiments, their project is unexpectedly shut down and their materials confiscated. Frank, Zoe and their team take matters into their own hands, launching a rogue attempt to recreate their experiment, during which things go terribly wrong and one of their own, Zoe, is horrifically killed. Fueled by terror and grief, Frank pushes them to do the unthinkable: attempt to resurrect their first human test subject. Initially, the procedure appears a success, but the team soon realizes something is wrong with Zoe. As her strange new persona reveals itself, the team quickly becomes stuck in a gruesome reality. They are no longer faced with the question of whether they can bring someone back to life- but rather, the wrath of her return.
